The Sanctuary
A sandy stepping-stone path winding through coconut palms toward a thatched-roof house

Pacifico · Siargao · Philippines

The Sanctuary

The first house of a sanctuary being built.

walk in

The walk in

The house appears between the trees.

White walls and a woven thatch roof glimpsed through dense coconut palms

The porch

Thatch overhead, timber underfoot.

Morning coffee out front, the palms all around.

The front porch under a deep fringe of thatch, with timber railings and chairs

Inside

Room to live slowly.

A full kitchen, a bedroom on the garden floor, music, cool air. The house is furnished the way the founder keeps her own home: the kitchen fitted with Smeg and Greenpan, linen curtains at the windows, organic cotton and linen on the beds, marble and carved wood in the small things your hands find.

The kitchen: terrazzo counter, cream toaster and kettle, timber cabinets, gas stove
View through timber-framed windows into the garden-floor bedroom and the stairs to the loft
A cream speaker and ceramic lamp on a timber shelf

The loft

Sleep under the beams.

Upstairs, a wide bed in the peak of the roof, and an old silk Persian rug underfoot.

The loft bedroom: a wide bed beneath exposed timber A-frame beams

The shower

Rinse off over ocean stones.

A walk-in shower lit by the garden window. An outdoor shower under the sky is being built beside the grove.

The bathroom: walk-in shower floored with ocean stones, round mirror, palms in the window

The outdoor rooms

The land is still becoming.

Dine under the stars. An outdoor dining room is being laid beneath the open sky; until it is ready, the porch table serves the same sunset.

Train in the grove. Pull-up bars, dip bars, open air, in a pocket of the land being planted into its own small grove.

Rinse under the sky. The outdoor shower rises beside it.

Ground breaks on the wider sanctuary beyond the palms in March. Staying now means staying in the beginning.

A sandy garden path along the house, bordered by pebbles and young plants

The land

The land feeds the table.

A vegetable garden grows across the land, and what is ready is yours to pick and cook. A caretaker lives here and tends the place every day; the house is looked after even when you are the only guest on the land.

And you will be met at the gate by Tom and Jerry, two young dogs the land adopted as pups and kept. They consider the garden theirs. They are friendly, they are gentle, and they will walk you home.

The story

Stay in the beginning.

This house is the first room of The Sanctuary. The rest is being built around it, slowly and in the open: ground breaks beyond the palms in March, and what rises will be a place for retreat and return. Until then, the casita is yours alone, the loft under the beams, the ocean stones, the kitchen, the palms at every window. Stay now, and you will be able to say you were here when it was one small house.

Good to know

Questions, answered.

How does booking and payment work?

Pick your dates on the calendar and send the inquiry · we reply personally. A 50% deposit secures your stay · GCash and bank transfer both work · and the balance is due seven days before you arrive. Nothing is charged at inquiry.

What if I need to cancel?

More than 30 days before arrival, everything you’ve paid comes back to you. Between 30 and 7 days, half the booking amount does. Inside 7 days, and for no-shows, we can’t refund · but we would always rather move your dates than cancel, so ask as early as you can.

When are check-in and check-out?

Check-in from 2 in the afternoon · check-out by 11 in the morning. Late check-out is sometimes possible, just ask.

Are children welcome?

Yes. The loft is reached by stairs and the land around the house is still being built, so little ones need watching.

Is there wifi?

Yes · Starlink.

Is it really the whole house?

It is · a private house under the palms, the only one on the land. The house, the garden and the outdoor rooms are yours for the stay · sleeps four, two-night minimum.
